The Rogers & Cowan senior vp shares his take on attending the fest.

Your favorite thing about Berlin?
Business gets done. The mindset of the industry is definitely one of focus and determination.

Biggest pet peeve about Berlin?
The food-truck infiltration. I say more brat stands — less trendy food trucks.

Your second favorite thing about Berlin?
That David Hasselhoff is an icon here.

What’s the one item you always take with you to Berlin?
Zicam. Living in L.A. the last 17 years has softened me, unfortunately.

What’s your best “Berlin nightmare” story?
In Berlin for 10 days — had to move hotels four times. Not rooms — hotels!

Advice for a Berlin first-timer?
If you have a significant other, get your Valentine’s Day flower and present delivery sorted out in advance.

Craziest late-night Berlin memory?
Way back in the day, the bar at the Ritz would stay open pretty much until there were no customers left. On one occasion, business was being conducted very late into the night/morning, the bartenders needed a break — and they turned the bartending duties over to me. That lasted until I was overwhelmed by a wave of people who seemingly out of nowhere descended on the bar and the staff realized I was certainly pouring like a champ — but not bothering to collect money.
