Berlin: 'Snow Queen 3' Sells to France, Australia
Russia's Wizart Animation also has sold new film 'Sheep & Wolves' to Norway and beyond.
Odin’s Eye has picked up Russian animated movie The Snow Queen 3, produced by Wizart Animation, for a theatrical release in Australia and New Zealand.
Wizart also concluded a deal with KLB for the movie's theatrical distribution in France, while Universal Pictures Video France acquired it for France and the French-speaking territories in Europe and Africa.
Meanwhile, Blitz will release the Snow Queen franchise's third installment in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania.
Wizart also has sold another one of its animated movies. Sheep & Wolves was picked up by Norway's Storytelling Media and will become the first Russian independent animated film to ever get a wide theatrical release in Norway.
In addition, German distributor Koch Media has acquired the rights for Sheep & Wolves for a home entertainment release in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and South Tyrol. Hungary's ADS Service also acquired the film.
"Our partners’ loyalty is a proof that the interest in the franchise The Snow Queen and the new project Sheep & Wolves is growing as the movies are entering new territories and have success there, and the audience is proportionally growing," said Yuri Moskvin, Wizart's general producer. "That is why our work at EFM is very important — we can learn more about new movies, speak about the Wizart products and find prospective distributors in new territories."
The Snow Queen 3 was released by Universal in Russia in December and grossed $5 million. Sheep & Wolves, released in April, brought in $2.4 million in Russia.
