Berlin Stars touch down for 10th year

European Film Promotion celebrated a decade of bringing up-and-coming European talent to an international audience with its annual Shooting Stars luncheon Monday.

The Shooting Stars has become a must-attend for industry scouts looking for the next breakout talent.

Being named a shooting star is hardly a guarantee of international success, but during the past decade the EFP has introduced such then-unknowns as Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, Ludivine Sagnier and Daniel Bruehl to the rest of the world.

The 2007 event was hosted by German acting veteran Kai Wiesinger ("The Comedian Harmonists") who introduced the 21 fresh faces from across the continent.

For the first time this year, the Shooting Stars also included talent from new European Union member countries Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
