More Berlinale coverage

BERLIN -- The Berlin International Film Festival is on target for a record year for ticket sales, with some 270,000 sold by the halfway mark. This compares with 240,000 sold for the entire festival last year.

"The audience loves the Berlinale -- even its more difficult, unconventional films," festival director Dieter Kosslick said.

The final ticket tally after the Berlinale wraps Feb. 15 will be the largest in the festival's 59-year history.
