Berlin's European Film Market Shows All Round Growth
Nearly 7,000 industry attendees and more than 1,500 buyers attended the event this year.
COLOGNE, Germany -- Berlin's European Film Market enjoyed across-the-board growth with nearly 7,000 industry attendees and more than 1,500 buyers making the trip this year.
The EFM reversed the decline seen after the financial crash. While there were slightly fewer firms at this year's market -- 400 compared with 419 last year -- all other metrics pointed up. Some 741 films, 570 of them market premieres, screened in Berlin. And there were 30 3D titles, nearly triple the number at last year's event.
EFM director Beki Probst echoed the sentiment of most Berlin attendees this year, reporting "good business, exciting new projects and a very lively market atmosphere overall."
