Beta Film takes 49% stake in Dreamtool

BERLIN -- Jan Mojto's production/sales group Beta Film has taken a 49% stake in Munich-based production house Dreamtool Entertainment, Beta said Monday.

The made-for-TV specialist is in postproduction on the adventure event film "The Charlemagne Code," for leading German commercial channel RTL.

Dreamtool and Beta are a natural fit. Mojto's company specializes in the kind of wide-appeal, high-end production that Dreamtool has made its stock-in-trade.

"Dreamtool is a young, dynamic company that can deliver films of top international quality," Beta Film managing director Eric Welbers said.

Dreamtool founders Stefan Raiser and Felix Zackor said the cooperation with Beta will allow the boutique operation to expand into the realm of big budget international co-productions.
