CULVER CITY, CA - JUNE 09:  Actress Betty White performs onstage at the 39th AFI Life Achievement Award honoring Morgan Freeman held at Sony Pictures Studios on June 9, 2011 in Culver City, California. The AFI Life Achievement Award tribute to Morgan Freeman will premiere on TV Land on Saturday, June 19 at 9PM ET/PST.

The network plans to celebrate the actress' big day in January.

Betty White will not be celebrating her upcoming 90th birthday quietly.

The actress will get a dinner-style party in Los Angeles in December, and it will be well documented.

NBC confirms it will air a special broadcast of the event near her actual birthday on Jan. 17, as first reported by TV Guide.

Other milestones for her first year as a nonagenarian include NBC's upcoming reality series Off Their Rockers and the third season of Hot in Cleveland, which has plotted a birthday episode for White's alter ego.
