SYDNEY -- Australian production and distribution house Beyond International has taken a 10% stake in U.K. media investment company Motive Television for AUS$428,000 ($402,000), managing director Mikael Borglund said Wednesday.

Beyond will help Motive's production affiliates leverage their format rights outside the U.K., Borglund said. Motive has stakes in comedy producers Brown Eyed Boy and Scarlet Television, factual entertainment producers Rumble TV in the U.K. and Luminous Prods. and Motive Television in Ireland.

Beyond's stake will come when Motive lists new shares to raise 670,000 pounds ($1.3 million) it says it will use either to finance a TV drama joint venture production company or acquire half of an existing TV production company.
