'Big Miracle' Trailer: John Krasinski, Drew Barrymore Save the Whales (Video)

Universal’s rescue adventure film hits theaters Feb. 3, 2012.

Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski join forces in Universal’s upcoming feel-good rescue adventure, Big Miracle, set in the icy Alaskan waters.

Inspired by a true story, Big Miracle finds Krasinski as Adam, a small town reporter who is joined by ex-girlfriend and Greenpeace volunteer Rachel, played by Barrymore, to free a family of majestic gray whales trapped by ice in the Arctic Circle. The duo enlists the help of an unlikely group of Inuit natives, oil companies and Russian and American military, as news outlets from across the country flock to their Alaskan town to cover the story.

Directed by Ken Kwapis, the film also stars Kristen Bell, Dermot Mulroney, Tim Blake Nelson and Ted Danson. Originally titled Everybody Loves Whales, Big Miracle will be released nationwide on Feb. 3, 2012. Watch the trailer below.
