Big & Rich's John Rich Kicked Off Southwest Flight for Alleged Intoxication
The country singer was removed after boarding a plane in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Southwest Airlines and Hollywood are at odds yet again.
Big & Rich singer John Rich was allegedly kicked off a flight departing from Las Vegas on Sunday morning after displaying drunken behavior, reports TMZ. The country artist reportedly engaged in a verbal argument with fellow passengers before boarding, and continued to display signs of intoxication once on board the main cabin. The flight was scheduled to depart at 10:50 a.m. for Nashville.
After being asked to exit the aircraft by Southwest crewmembers, Rich and his companion cooperated in a calm manner and arranged alternate travel arrangements. The airline confirms that a passenger was kicked off the flight -- and that a full refund was processed -- but would not release his name.
Rich is the latest of several high-profile celebrities to be kicked off a Southwest flight. L-Word actress Leisha Hailey sparked outrage after tweeting that she and her longtime girlfriend had been removed from their seats for kissing, while Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong was booted for wearing sagging pants and verbally sassing a flight attendant. Red State director Kevin Smith was kicked off a flight in early 2010 after the airline claimed that he was too large to occupy a single seat.
