Larry Wilmore Slams Bill Cosby's Defense Plan Amid "Overwhelming, Damning Evidence"
"They plan to cast Mr. Cosby’s use of drugs during sex as a widely accepted practice four decades ago. Yeah, the problem is that nonconsensual sex has never been a widely accepted practice."
Larry Wilmore kicked off Monday's episode of The Nightly Show with another Bill Cosby slam, "because if there's one thing people hate, it's the truth getting out."
"I’m not letting it go, motherf---ers," he said before breaking down the accused comedian's new public defense strategy, led by Monique Pressley. "That's right, this asshole is doing something he made sure all those models and actresses couldn't do -- he's fighting back."
Wilmore then "popped" each tier of the strategy onscreen with a pudding pop. "According to The New York Times, they plan to cast Mr. Cosby’s use of drugs during sex as a widely accepted practice four decades ago," he said. "Yeah, the problem is that nonconsensual sex has never been a widely accepted practice. This hasn't caught on."
And to answer the defense that "we’re all doing 'ludes!" (complete with a Cosby impression), Wilmore noted that Cosby himself admitted that he never used them himself "because he wanted to be the only one awake for the raping!"
Altogether, "consistently denying something in the face of overwhelming, damning evidence doesn't make you innocent; it makes you the New England Patriots."
