Bill Nighy, Catherine Keener to Topline BBC's Latest Agatha Christie Adaptation
Matthew Goode, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ed Westwick and Alice Eve are also among the ensemble lineup for the BBC three-parter 'Ordeal by Innocence.'
The appetite for Agatha Christie adaptations shows no sign of slowing down.
With Kenneth Branagh's A-list ensemble Murder on the Orient Express gearing up for a November release, the BBC has unveiled an all-star lineup for its latest visit to the library of the world's best-selling novelist (whose books have sold only less than The Bible and Shakespeare).
Ordeal by Innocence will reunite the team behind 2016's The Witness for the Prosecution and 2015's And Then There Were None.
Bill Nighy (Love Actually, Pirates of the Caribbean) and Catherine Keener (Get Out, Capote) will be joined by Matthew Goode (The Good Wife, Downton Abbey), Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark, Loving Vincent), Anthony Boyle (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl), Luke Treadaway (Fortitude), Morven Christie (The A Word), Crystal Clarke (Assassin’s Creed, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens), Ella Purnell (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Churchill) and Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness, Black Mirror).
Filming will begin later this month in Scotland, with Sandra Goldbacher (Victoria, The Hour) directing for producers Mammoth Screen from a script by Sarah Phelps.
"Ordeal by Innocence was one of Christie's personal favorites, and I cannot wait to see how this outstanding cast will bring her story to life under the skillful direction of Sandra Goldbacher and the Mammoth Screen production team," said James Prichard, executive producer and executive chairman of Agatha Christie Limited, which last year signed a deal with the BBC for seven adaptations. "To have Bill Nighy and Catherine Keener head up this all-star cast really is a testament to the depth and quality of my great grandmother’s writing."
Ordeal by Innocence is a Mammoth Screen and Agatha Christie Limited drama for BBC One. Executive producers are Sarah Phelps, Karen Thrussell, Damien Timmer and Helen Ziegler for Mammoth Screen, Prichard and Basi Akpabio for Agatha Christie Limited and Gaynor Holmes for the BBC.
IMG will handle sales in all territories internationally.
