Bill Werde upped at Billboard

Executive editor becomes editorial director

NEW YORK -- Bill Werde has been named editorial director for Billboard.

Werde, who joined the company in July 2005 from Rolling Stone, has served as executive editor since last year. He replaces Tamara Conniff, who recently departed for a position as president of music services at Irving Azoff's Front Line Management Group.

"This is an exciting time for the Billboard brand, and Bill's editorial integrity, news savvy, management expertise and vision make him the perfect choice to lead Billboard," said Howard Appelbaum, Billboard publisher and VP of the entertainment group at Nielsen Business Media.
