Billboard Music Awards: Hozier Performs "Take Me to Church" (Video)
The Irish musician went into Sunday night's show up for five prizes.
Hozier took Sin City to church Sunday night.
The five-time Billboard Music Awards nominee performed his hit "Take Me to Church" at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The musician started Sunday night's performance with a lone spotlight on him as he crooned the opening lyrics. As the song continued, lights illuminated his band and an orchestra. With a backdrop that said "Hozier," bright lights flashed during the chorus. A horizontal line of lights along the bottom of the stage also illuminated Hozier during his performance.
"Take Me to Church," which Hozier performed with Annie Lennox at this year's Grammys, went into Sunday night's show up for top streaming song (audio) and won top rock song. The Irish musician, meanwhile, was up for three more awards: for top new artist, top rock artist (which he won) and top rock album for his self-titled debut.
The Billboard Music Awards, co-hosted by Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen, aired live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
