Billboard Music Awards: Ed Sheeran Performs "Castle on the Hill" From Chile
The awards show is airing live from Las Vegas on ABC.
Ed Sheeran performed "Castle on the Hill" at Sunday night's Billboard Music Awards via a prerecorded show in Santiago, Chile. The singer-songwriter is currently on his worldwide tour, hitting the U.S. this summer.
A smiling Sheeran performed solo with only his acoustic guitar and loop pedal. He wore a black, short-sleeved T-shirt with the word "Hoax" across the chest. Camera phones were held high during the performance as the crowd danced and sang along to the lyrics.
"Castle on the Hill" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 6. Written and produced by Sheeran and Benny Blanco, the song is a reflection on the importance of friendship and growing up in a small, countryside town. The song is also featured on Sheeran's latest album, titled Divide, which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The Billboard Music Awards air live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT Sunday on ABC from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Vanessa Hudgens and Ludacris are hosting. Keep up with all the latest news here.
