Rogers paying $77 mil for games

TORONTO -- Canadian cable giant Rogers Communications will pay the Buffalo Bills CAN$78 million ($77 million) to play eight NFL games in Toronto over the next five years.

Rogers, in its latest financial results unveiled Tuesday, said that the cross-border NFL team will play five regular-season and three preseason games at the Rogers Center in Toronto, starting with an exhibition game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Aug. 14 and a regular-season matchup Dec. 7 against the Miami Dolphins.

Rogers, Canada's largest cable operator, also owns Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays and the Rogers Center stadium complex.
