The new social entertainment platform will handle Francesco Zippel's star-studded doc on 'The Exorcist' director William Friedkin in North American and the U.K.

TaTaTu, a blockchain-based social entertainment platform, will release the Francesco Zippel documentary Friedkin Uncut in North America and the U.K.

The company, which co-produced Zippel’s doc on William Friedkin, director of The French Connection and The Exorcist, will stream the film exclusively on its platform in the territories.

TaTaTu made the announcement ahead of the world premiere of Friedkin Uncut at the Venice Film Festival.

Zippel’s doc features the likes of Francis Ford Coppola, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Damien Chazelle and Michael Shannon talking about the cult director. Friedkin also talks on camera about his journey from being the mailboy at WGN-TV in Chicago to becoming one of the most influential directors of his generation.

TaTaTu is an online platform that uses blockchain technology to reward its users for watching and sharing content. In June, the company announced a $575 million token pre-sale, proceeds of which proceeds are being used to bankroll original content, as well as market and roll out the service, which is still in Beta launch mode. Projects TaTaTu has in development include a film adaptation of  J.M. Coetzee’s prize-winning novel Waiting for the Barbarians, directed by Ciro Guerra and starring Mark Rylance and Robert Pattinson; a Lamborghini biopic starring Antonio Banderas and Alec Baldwin; and the drama The Sound of Freedom with Jim Caviezel and Mira Sorvino.
