'Blue Is the Warmest Color' Actresses Now Modeling for Miu Miu

Miu Miu has tapped French actresses, Lea Seydoux and Adele Exarchopoulos -- co-stars of the critically acclaimed yet controversial French drama Blue Is the Warmest Color -- for its resort 2014 campaign shot by Dutch photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
Seydoux and Exarchopoulos star as lesbian lovers in director Abdellatif Kechiche's film, which won the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
According to Kechiche, the actresses "have two different but complementary personalities." Not only was their onscreen chemistry apparent for the racy film, it also became evident for the Miu Miu fashion shoot showcasing the Italian label's vibrant mixed prints, patterned shoes, multicolored bags and bold jewels.
"Five flirtatious compositions capture their candid chemistry: an arm casually slung over a shoulder, leaning together in a mirrored pose, casually reclined across each other on the floor," Miu Miu wrote in a statement, describing the ladies' interaction during the shoot. "The background wall in baby pink and girlish styling of the collection contrast with the actresses' seductive presence."
Blue Is the Warmest Color -- while banned in Idaho theaters -- opened elsewhere Oct. 25.
