TORONTO -- Canadian producer Blueprint Entertainment is getting Mad.
Toronto-based Blueprint on Tuesday unwrapped a development deal with Canadian science product provider the Mad Science Group to produce a branded TV show and licensed products.
Toronto-based Blueprint said the exclusive development deal will include a Mad Science TV series that targets 6- to 9-year-olds as the Canadian producer branches out into animation and kids programming.
Blueprint will handle worldwide sales of the proposed TV series through its distribution arm Oasis International, while Montreal-based Mad Science Group handles ancillary products and licensing.
The Canadian development pact follows a 2003 agreement between MGM and Mad Science to create a licensing and merchandising program and a Mad Science TV show.
The deal was hammered out by John Morayniss and Frank Saperstein on behalf of the Canadian producer, and Ariel & Ron Shlien, co-founders of the Mad Science Group.
