Bocelli opening RomaCinemaFest

ROME -- Operatic tenor Andrea Bocelli has been added to the glitter of the RomaCinemaFest's Oct. 18 opening night, which is already set to welcome Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett and the European premiere of her film "Elizabeth: The Golden Age."

Bocelli's appearance continues a tradition of opening the festival with classical music, after La Scala conductor Riccardo Muti opened last year's festival.

Bocelli also adds his name to a list of red carpet attendees that includes Robert Redford, Sophia Loren, Tom Cruise, Sean Penn, Gerard Depardieu, Francis Ford Coppola and Jane Fonda.
