Actress Olivia Wilde served as executive producer on the short.

Body Team 12, a short documentary that is in contention for Oscar nomination, has been acquired by HBO Documentary Films.

Actress Olivia Wilde was an executive producer on the film, along with Paul G. Allen. RYOT co-founders David Darg and Bryn Mooser directed and produced the project, respectively.

Body Team 12 follows the story of the Liberian Red Cross workers tasked with collecting the dead during the height of the Ebola outbreak. The film was shot on the ground in Monrovia, Liberia, and recounts the devastating epidemic through the story of Garmai Sumo, the sole female member of the body collection team.

"Body Team 12 is a tribute to those heroes, and it is our hope that a presentation on HBO will honor these body teams and lead to greater exposure of their determination and tireless efforts,” said Darg.

The short is one of ten that are vying for five nomination spots for best documentary short in this year's Oscar race.

Body Team 12 was the winner of the Tribeca Film Festival's award for best documentary short and was recently nominated for an International Documentary Association award for best short.

The deal was negotiated by Allen's Vulcan Productions and HBO Documentary Films.

The film will debut on HBO in February 2016.
