Produced by Khan's banner Red Chillies Entertainment, Happy New Year is directed by choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan and stars actress Deepika Padukone and actors Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.

Khan and Padukone starred in last year's runaway hit romcom, Disney-UTV's Chennai Express directed by Rohit Shetty.

Happy New Year is slated for release during the Diwali festival in October. The project re-unites the star and director after the duo delivered hits with 2004's Main Hoon Na and 2007's Om Shanti Om, both also produced by Red Chillies.
