Booth, Field on 'Road' more traveled

Two recurring players on ABC's "October Road" — Lindy Booth and Rebecca Field — have been upped to regulars for next season, an indication that the network has faith in the midseason drama and is looking to bring it back in the fall.

In "Road," Booth plays Pizza Girl and Field plays Janet the Planet. The M Entertainment/ABC TV Studio show stars Bryan Greenberg as a successful novelist who returns to his hometown. The series, which is headed to its season finale Thursday, has had a strong run in the post-"Grey's Anatomy" 10 p.m. Thursday slot, most recently logging a period-winning 4.1 rating/12 share among adults 18-48.

As a recurring guest star, Booth could have tested for pilots this season and potentially land on a new 2007-08 series. The pre-emptive bump to a regular before the end of "Road's" first season would keep her and Field on board the series next season, when their characters' story lines would be expanded.

Booth recently wrapped the feature "What Just Happened?" directed by Barry Levinson, and the indie "Nobel Son." She is repped by Innovative Artists and co-managed by Ronda Cooper and Christopher Wright Management.
