Box Office: 'San Andreas' Rumbles to $287.1M Worldwide

Proving the star power of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, the earthquake disaster pic has earned $188 million overseas alone, including an early start in China of $51 million.
San Andreas continues to jolt audiences, rumbling to an early worldwide gross of $287.1 million.
Starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, the earthquake disaster film has grossed $99.1 million in its first 10 days of play domestically and another $188 million overseas, including a six-day debut of $55 million in China.
The Warner Bros. and New Line title easily topped the foreign chart this weekend with $97.8 million from 68 markets. In North America, it placed a strong No. 2 in its sophomore outing with $26.4 million.
And in South Korea, despite heath concerns over the MERS virus, San Andreas opened to $7.2 million, including Wednesday sneaks.
San Andreas also continued to do strong business in holdover markets, including earthquake-ridden Mexico, where it grossed another $6.6 million for a total of $21.2 million. And in Brazil, its total take is $23.8 million, followed by $13 million in the U.K., $9.2 million in Russia, $5.3 million in France and $4.8 in Australia.
Village Roadshow Pictures co-financed and co-produced San Andreas, which cost $110 million to make.
