Boy George blasts Lady Gaga's 'coke' claim

British singer questions statement's influence on young fans

Eighties pop star Boy George took to his Paper magazine blog, Postcards From the Edge of My Bed-lam, to publicly blast fellow singer Lady Gaga's claims in a recent Vanity Fair article that she is an "occasional" cocaine user.

"Could it be that her use of coke is not so 'occasional?' " he ponders on his blog.

The on-again/off-again Culture Club frontman has written unabashedly about his struggles with addiction in his 1995 autobiography "Take It Like a Man," and claims to have been sober for two years now.

"As a recovering addict who knows how dangerous 'occasional' use is, I can think of no reason for Gaga to reveal this to her young audience," he writes, before suggesting that Lady Gaga's quick, monumental pop success may be beginning to obscure her grip on reality.
