Brad Pitt's World War II Drama 'Fury' Moves Up Fall Release Date

The David Ayer-directed film also stars Shia LaBeouf and Logan Lerman

Likely looking for a longer playtime over awards season, Sony has moved up the release of David Ayer's World War II movie Fury from Nov. 14 to Oct. 17.

Brad Pitt leads the ensemble cast, which also includes Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal, Michael Pena, Jason Isaacs and Scott Eastwood.

Don't be surprised if Fury makes an appearance at one of the upcoming fall film festivals.

Set during the final months of the war, and as the Allies make their final push in Europe, a battle-hardened U.S. Army tank commander (Pitt) leads his crew on a dangerous mission to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

QED International's Bill Block produced Fury alongside Ayer, Ethan Smith and John Lesher. Executive producers include Pitt, Sasha Shapiro, Anton Lessine, Alex Ott and Ben Waisbren

In in its new slot, Fury opens opposite Dracula Untold, animated film Book of Life and awards hopeful Birdman.
