Brand steps down at DGC

TORONTO -- Pamela Brand is stepping down as CEO of the Directors Guild of Canada after 20 years with the organization, it was announced Thursday.

Brand, who joined the DGC in 1988 as the national accountant before becoming national executive director in 1991, is departing to pursue new goals, the Toronto-based guild said.

"All of our members respect Pamela's contribution and service to the guild and the industry. We wish her well in her future endeavors and thank Pamela for her work on our behalf," DGC president Alan Goluboff said in a statement.

The DGC, which recently concluded a new three-year deal with Canadian producers, has established a search committee to find Brand's replacement.
