Bravo puts Coffey in dryer's seat

Bravo has greenlighted an unscripted pilot starring former "Shear Genius" contestant Tabatha Coffey.

Reveille, the production company behind Bravo's hairstyling competition series, is producing the project, tentatively titled "Tabatha's Takeover."

The project will feature Coffey, an Australia native who was eliminated in Episode 6 of "Genius," as she travels the country looking to "take over" and improve the state of American hair salons in dire need of a makeover. She'll have a week to work her magic before determining whether she can put the salons back on track or suggest that they close up shop for good.

Mark Koops and Sarah-Jane Cohen are the executive producers of "Takeover."

"Shear Genius" recently was picked up for a second season. Reveille's reality series credits include Bravo's "Blow Out" and NBC's "American Gladiators" and "The Biggest Loser."
