Brit comedy 'Infidel' sells abroad

David Baddiel-scripted comedy pre-sold to 13 markets

LONDON -- Brit comedy "The Infidel," starring British-Iranian comedian Omid Djalili and "West Wing" star Richard Schiff has been pre-sold to 13 markets including France (Euro TV), Germany and Austria (Square One), Australia and New Zealand (Becker) and the Middle East (Front Row) U.K.-based sales and financing house The Salt Company said Tuesday.

"The Infidel," scripted by David Baddiel, promises to be "an identity-crisis comedy" that sees cockney London cabbie Mahmud Nasir discover that he was adopted as a child and is in fact Jewish.

Directed by Josh Appignanesi, "Infidel" was produced by Slingshot film and is now in post production, due for release in the U.K. by Revolver in April 2010.
