Brit screenplay comp. announces winner

'Legend of New York Pizza' to be produced by Kaos Films

LONDON -- Kaos Films, the judges and sponsors of the inaugural British feature screenplay competition (BFSC) Thursday (July 2) announced the winner of the 2008 competition: John Paul Sheerin's "The Legend of New York Pizza."

The finalists were judged by a panel of judges including Kenneth Branagh, Michael Kuhn, Jonathan Lynn, Alan Parker, Nik Powell, Katharine Vile, Natascha Wharton and Stephen Woolley.

Sheerin have his screenplay produced by Kaos Films and will also be offered representation by Katharine Vile at talent agency United Agents.

Kaos Films will put the winning screenplay, a romantic comedy, into immediate development with producer/director Arif Hussein attached to direct. The film will go into production in autumn 2009.
