British Film Institute Appoints Head of Program and Acquisitions
Stuart Brown was previously head of events at the BFI.
The British Film Institute has expanded its management team with the appointment of Stuart Brown to the newly created role of head of program and acquisitions.
Brown, who has been serving as head of events at the BFI and has overseen some of its recent special film seasons, will be responsible for pushing audience and program development across the institute’s various platforms.
The move comes as the BFI grows its distribution arm. Its re-release of Blade Runner: The Final Cut earlier in the year took well over $1 million across the U.K., while last year’s re-release of 2001: A Space Odyssey amassed $550,000.
