Broadway's 'She Loves Me' to Screen in Movie Theaters

Starring Laura Benanti, Zachary Levi and Jane Krakowski, the one-night-only showing is set for Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. in nearly 500 movie theaters nationwide.

Broadway's She Loves Me is hitting the big screen.

The recording of the hit musical-comedy revival — featuring Tony-nominated performances by Laura Benanti, Zachary Levi and Jane Krakowski — will play in nearly 500 U.S. movie theaters on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., complete with filmed interviews with the cast and creative team.

Presented by Fathom Events and theatre streaming service BroadwayHD, the Roundabout Theatre Company revival is the first title in a partnership to bring select domestic (Broadway/Off-Broadway) and international (London’s West End) theatre performances to U.S. cinemas. Tickets for the one-night-only screening can be purchased beginning Oct. 28.

Directed by Scott Ellis and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, She Loves Me follows quarreling 1930s perfume-counter clerks who are unaware that they are each other's anonymous romantic pen pals. The limited engagement was nominated for eight Tony Awards and took home the prize for David Rockwell's scenic design. It became the first Broadway show to be live-streamed online.
