She'll continue to work closely with Mike Darnell and serve as the top unscripted exec for WHTV.

Brooke Karzen is moving up at Warner Horizon Television.

The unscripted executive has been promoted to the newly created post of exec vp alternative programming and development, the company announced Monday.

In her new role, Karzen will continue to work closely with Warner Bros. unscripted and alternative TV president Mike Darnell, to whom she reports, and be responsible for all creative affairs, development, current programming and matters related to the company's original television series and content.

Karzen will continue to spearhead the development and production of unscripted programming and collaborate with producers including Mike Fleiss, Mark Burnett, Ellen DeGeneres, LeBron James and Steve Harvey.

"Brooke is an amazing executive. She manages all aspects of one of the busiest production companies in the business and leads an incredible team. We are lucky to have her, and this promotion is long overdue," Darnell said.

Karzen has been with WB for 15 years and has overseen The Bachelor since its inception as well as its offshoots, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. She was also instrumental in bringing Burnett's The Voice to NBC. More recently, her credits include 500 Questions, as well as upcoming entries Little Big Shots and Love at First Kiss.

Karzen joined the company in 2000, working for Telepictures Productions as vp programming and senior creative exec for primetime series. She moved to Warner Horizon in 2006 and was upped to senior vp alternative programming in 2008.
