Bruno Mars Debut Album Goes Platinum

The singer will support "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" on co-headling tour with Janelle Monae kicking off May 4.

Bruno Mars' debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, has gone platinum. The disc reached the milestone in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland, where it is 2x Platinum-certified by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Mars will be supporting the album on a co-headling tour with Janelle Monae that kicks off May 4 at the Roseland Ballroom in New York. He will also appear on the April 28th edition of American Idol.

Mars won the 2011 Grammy for best male pop vocal performance for "Just the Way You Are."
