Rubin, who is currently CFO of the division, will continue in that role as well, overseeing all financial and business operations for the unit.

ViacomCBS has named Bryon Rubin COO of the CBS Entertainment Group, the company's operating division that includes the CBS network, CBS Studios, the CBS Television Stations and CBS Television Distribution.

Rubin, who is currently CFO of the division, will continue in that role as well, overseeing all financial and business operations for the unit. He will report to CBS group president and CEO George Cheeks, who joined the company earlier this year.

Rubin, who joined CBS in 1999, had previously served as CFO of the CBS Network, and the CFO of CBS Interactive. His elevation comes as CBS, and ViacomCBS as a whole, is undergoing a transformative shift toward streaming and direct-to-consumer. CBS All Access, the company's streaming service, will undergo a rebrand to Paramount+ next year, with CBS' entertainment assets also increasingly seeking to sell their programming to streaming outlets.

“Bryon is uniquely qualified to more broadly lead our financial and business operations and to take on an important strategic role as well. His deep knowledge of CBS and so many critical parts of our business – broadcast, production, digital, syndication, stations – will be an enormous asset to our Group,” said Cheeks in a statement. “His insight and counsel since I arrived at CBS in March have been invaluable, and I look forward to partnering with him as we continue to define and position CBS for a rapidly changing media world.”
