BTS Breaks Multiple Guinness World Records With "Boy With Luv" Video
The K-pop boy band's global domination continues with three major milestones.
Last week, K-pop supergroup BTS made history as YouTube's biggest first-day debut for a music video with the clip for their single "Boy With Luv," featuring Halsey. The Guinness World Records organization on Thursday confirmed that the South Korean boy band has broken three major records in total.
According to a statement released via Twitter by Guinness World Records, "Boy With Luv" now holds the following titles: "most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours," "most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours" and, lastly, "most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group."
"We're honored to have BTS as part of the Guinness World Records family," a rep for the company said.

The colorful, choreography-heavy visual for "Boy With Luv" — the lead track from BTS' highly anticipated album Persona: Map of the Soul — racked up 74.6 million views in its first day of release on Friday. Earlier this month, the band's female counterpart, K-pop girl group Blackpink, broke the record with 56.7 million YouTube views in one day for their "Kill This Love" music video, beating out the 55.4 million views that Ariana Grande garnered in a 24-hour period for "Thank U, Next."
News of BTS' three major milestones comes just days after the group made history as the first K-pop boy band to perform as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live. In addition to "Boy With Luv," the Seoul-based septet entertained the crowd with a forceful rendition of their global hit "Mic Drop."
BTS also broke barriers at this year's Grammy Awards when their album Love Yourself: Tear — which topped the Billboard 200 chart — became the first K-pop album to ever be recognized by the Recording Academy in the best recording package category. They lost out to St. Vincent, but BTS also became the first-ever Korean act to present at the awards show.
BTS will resume their international stadium tour May 4 at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles. Watch their "Boy With Luv" music video below.
