Fox Networks Group previously acquired the drama for such markets as Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Sweden.

21st Century Fox's Fox Networks Group Europe and Africa have struck a multi-season licensing agreement with CBS Studios International for exclusive first-window rights in the U.K. to CBS hit Bull.

The drama stars Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull. The series is inspired by the early career of Dr. Phil McGraw as the founder of a trial consulting firm.

It will launch on Fox U.K. in the new year. Fox Networks Group previously acquired the show for other markets, including Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Sweden.

"Fox U.K. is committed to bringing our viewers the best, first, so we’re thrilled to be able to premiere smash-hit U.S. drama Bull in the U.K.," said Toby Etheridge, head of programming FNG U.K. "British fans of Michael Weatherly will love this slick new legal series, which is both thought-provoking and entertaining, and we’re pleased to add Bull to our powerful new schedule for Fox, which includes first-run NCIS, American Horror Story, Legion and the global phenomenon The Walking Dead.”

Weatherly also stars in NCIS. Said Stephen Tague, senior vp, Europe at CBS Studios International: "Demand in the U.K. for quality television programming has never been higher, and we are proud that CBS content on Fox is so popular with its audience in this very important territory."

Bull has been the top new program of the season in the U.S., averaging 16.89 million viewers, the companies said. Overall, it is the No. 2 broadcast drama in the U.S. behind NCIS.

Fox Networks Group in the U.K. operates four brands — pay channels Fox, National Geographic and NatGeo Wild and  DTT channel Your TV. FNG Europe and Africa operates 151 channels in 52 countries.
