Stars Are Beautiful in Buns at Spirit Awards
Brie Larson and Bel Powley are a couple of the starlets repping the classic hairstyle.
Considering the Spirit Awards are a daytime event, the styling head-to-toe tends to be much more relaxed than typical red carpets. From Cate Blanchett to Jessica Chastain, center-parted hair worn down was a big look for the afternoon. Updos were a little more rare, but those who chose to pull their locks off their shoulders opted for buns.
Favored nominee Brie Larson styled her textured blonde mane in a high topknot, which revealed the elegant open back of her embellished Chanel dress. Actress Aisha Tyler also punctuated her sophisticated frock with a smooth chignon at the crown of her head.
Carol nominee Rooney Mara had the slickest look of the day. True to form, her raven locks were polished and perfect, swept back into a tight, high knot by celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel. Yet another nominee, Bel Powley, sported an easy topknot along with winning Pacman-printed platforms. The only outlier in the bun crew who wore hers low, at the nape of the neck, was funny lady Retta, who was radiant in red.
