Burglar strikes home of Duran bassist Taylor

The Hollywood Hills home of Duran Duran bassist John Taylor was burglarized Monday, authorities said.

No one was at home when the burglary occurred, said Officer Mike Lopez, a police department spokesman.

Several items were taken, although Lopez said he did not have any details.

It was not known whether Taylor was the one who called police around 12 p.m. Monday to report the burglary. Lopez also did not know whether investigators had interviewed Taylor.

No arrests have been made.

In October, Duran Duran announced guitarist Andy Taylor had quit the veteran rock group. The remaining four members -- John Taylor, singer Simon Le Bon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes and drummer Roger Taylor -- said they planned to continue recording and performing as a group.

The band, led by Le Bon, was a big act in the 1980s but later faded from popularity before regrouping five years ago.
