At 92 yards, the roof of the Cinema Center is reportedly the longest free cantilever ever built. "Our aim is to defy gravity," says Wolf Prix of architecture firm Coop Himmelblau.

The 21st edition of South Korea's premier event will run Oct. 6 to 15.

The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) has announced the dates for its 21st edition. The South Korean event will raise its curtains, as is tradition, on the first Thursday of October, running for 10 days from Oct. 6 to 15.

The big 20th-anniversary edition of the festival took place earlier last month under the leadership of a new co-director, iconic actress Kang Soo-yeon (a.k.a. Kang Soo-youn), and featured 302 films from 75 countries.

In spite of budgeting problems, Asia's largest film festival drew a record audience of 227,377 according to organizers.

The annual Asian Film Market, held in parallel with BIFF, also saw a boost in sales as it garnered an all-time high number of participants. The dates for the festival's parallel industry events were not yet announced.
