'The Teacher' and other European pics were among the first titles to be sold at the South Korean film market.

Edko Films has acquired Hong Kong distribution rights to the Spanish documentary Renzo Piano, An Architect for Santander, the Paris-based sales banner Wide House announced Saturday as the Asian Film Market kicked off in Busan, South Korea.

The doc reflects on the relationship between film and architecture as it follows Renzo Piano, the esteemed Italian architect known for international landmarks such as the Pompidou Center in Paris. Director Carlos Saura documents Piano's work for the Botin Center for the Arts & Culture, from its foundation to its inauguration in Santander, northern Spain.

Edko previously purchased Our Last Tango by German Kral from Wide House. The sales company also announced that a series of deals have been concluded for the U.S.-France doc I Am Not Your Negro. Since making its market premiere in Toronto last month, the Raoul Peck film has been sold to the Netherlands (Cinema Delicatessen) and Brazil (Imovision), while deals are in progress for the U.K., Australia, Scandinavian territories and Italy.

Denmark-based LevelK announced that the Slovakia-Czech Republic film The Teacher, which made its Asian premiere this week at the 21st Busan Film Festival, has sold to some 50 territories since its debut at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in July, including Turkey (Sinema TV); Australia and New Zealand (Palace Films), France and Switzerland (Bodega Films); the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg (Four Corners/September Film); Israel (Lev Films); Italy (Satine Films); Spain (Karma Films); Taiwan (Catchplay); and Hong Kong (Encore Inflight).
