BVIT revamps sales division in Asia Pacific


The Walt Disney Co.'s Buena Vista International Television-Asia Pacific has restructured its sales division, Hong Kong-based vp sales Greg Johnson said Tuesday.

Mumbai-based Amit Malhotra, BVITV director of sales for India, will move to Hong Kong on June 1 to take over as regional sales director for Pan-Asia, India and Singapore. A search is under way for his replacement.

Beijing-based Mark Chan, director of sales in China, will move to Hong Kong in the expanded role of director of sales, Greater China, where his added responsibilities will include oversight of BVITV's distribution business in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Hong Kong-based Ramez Sheikh, previously manager of sales for Indonesia and emerging markets including Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Brunei, has been promoted to senior manager of sales for South Asia. His added responsibilities include BVITV's distribution business across all platforms in Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Other announcements include the appointment of Shreya Kapdi as assistant manager of client development for India and Karen Moon as assistant manager of sales for South Korea. Mumbai-based Kapdi will report to Amit Malhotra, while Seoul-based Moon will report to Shinbong Kang, who oversees BVITV's distribution business in addition to managing the Disney Channel and Walt Disney Internet Group businesses in South Korea.

"Amit, Mark and Ramez are dynamic sales executives, and we are very pleased to be recognizing their contributions made in the last few years," Johnson said. "We're also very excited to be expanding the team with Shreya and Karen, who bring with them experience and knowledge in their local markets."
