Cable TV brings IPL to Hong Kong

Company made two-year deal with World Sport Group

SINGAPORE -- Cricket fans in Hong Kong will be able to follow the inaugural Indian Premier League live on cable TV's Channel 63, after the company struck a two-year deal with World Sport Group.

WSG and Sony Television India paid $918 million for the IPL TV rights for the next 10 years.

Pay broadcaster Cable TV, which is owned by i-Cable, did not disclose how much it paid for the exclusive rights in Hong Kong for this year's remaining 51 matches. The IPL debuted last weekend.

There is no additional charge for subscribers, as Channel 63 is part of Cable TV's Basic Lifestyle Pack.
