An estimated 1,000 employees will return to work in Anaheim.

Disney on Wednesday announced a new ticketed experience for guests in the California Adventure Park.

Disneyland remains closed (as do rides in California Adventure) due to pandemic restrictions, but Disney is offering an expanded experience for guests. The Downtown Disney shopping and dining district reopened last summer.

Beginning March 18, a limited number of ticketed guests will be allowed to visit California Adventure indoor shops and outdoor dining (including fan-favorite churros and DOLE Whips), see Disney characters and snap pictures at unique locations throughout the area, according to the company. The price for the limited-capacity experience starts at $75. That includes admission, parking, unlimited PhotoPass downloads and a $25 dining card.

With "A Touch of Disney," an estimated 1,000 employees will return to work, according to the company.

Tickets will go on sale for the experience beginning March 4 for dates March 18 through April 5.

The news comes as Disneyland approaches the one-year mark being shuttered due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Disney, along with the other major theme parks of Southern California, has made a strong push to be allowed to reopen with strict health and safety measures in place. Thus far, Gov. Gavin Newsom has not budged.
