California Adventure Roller Coaster Breaks Down With Riders Aboard
Roughly 100 passengers were stranded on the ride, according to 'The Los Angeles Times.'
California Adventure's California Screamin' roller coaster broke down on Friday, stranding passengers on the Disney ride.
Four cars carrying approximately 100 passengers broke down this afternoon because the ride "experienced a minor mechanical issue," park spokeswoman Suzi Brown told The Hollywood Reporter. Seattle Mariners pitcher Jamie Moyer wrote on Twitter that he was one of the passengers stuck on the ride.
Crews relieved the passengers from the ride within 30 minutes, and no passengers were reported hurt, according to the Times. Brown told the newspaper that the ride was running again as of 3:45 p.m., and riders were given priority admission to any attraction.
A spokesperson for California Adventure did not immediately return THR's request for comment.
Stuck on California Screamin' at Disneyland. Not sure what is more difficult, pitching in a Major League game or this pic.twitter.com/gM6qwZ2kPs— Jamie Moyer (@jmo50Moyer) April 3, 2015
