Camera stop: Rosen to Dalsa

Daniel Rosen has accepted a role as head of production technology at Dalsa Digital Cinema LA, the manufacturer of the pioneering Origin and Evolution 4K digital- cinematography cameras. Rosen is winding down his term as vp technology at Warner Bros. Technical Operations.

Rosen joined Warner Bros. in 2003 and has developed technology for media preproduction, production, postproduction and preservation/restoration. He came from Cinesite's former Los Angeles base, where he was chief technology officer. Earlier, he worked at DreamWorks since its inception in 1995 as chief engineer.

Rosen has consulted for the Library of Congress and the Library & Archives Canada. Active in Hollywood's technical community, he is an associate member of the American Society of Cinematographers and a member of AMIA, SMPTE, IEEE and ACM.

Dalsa founder and chairman Savvas Chamberlain noted that Rosen will focus on numerous initiatives, including 4K production and post workflows incorporating Dalsa camera technologies.

"We are excited to have him on board," Chamberlain said. "He is joining an energetic team and will complement the expertise we have here."
