'Camp Rock' to debut on StarHub VOD

Jonas Brothers film gets one-week head start over Disney

SINGAPORE -- Walt Disney Television International (Southeast Asia) will preview the original movie "Camp Rock" in Singapore beginning Sept. 1, in a first-of-its-kind on-demand deal in Southeast Asia, managing director and vp Laura Wendt said Wednesday.

The Jonas Brothers movie previews on new subscription VOD channel Disney Channel@Play a week before its Sept. 7 premiere on the regular Disney Channel in Southeast Asia.

Disney Channel@Play is part of the Demand TV platform launched Wednesday by Singapore's dominant pay TV platform, StarHub.

The subscription VOD channel costs S$4 ($2.83) a month and offers a minimum of 20 hours of content per month, including at least two movies.
