Canada to Air 'The Kennedys' as Four-Parter

Camelot mini-series coming north a week after world premiere on ReelzChannel stateside.

TORONTO – There will be no simulcast of The Kennedys by Canadian broadcaster Shaw Media.

Leaving ReelzChannel with a world premiere of the controversial mini-series on April 3, Shaw is to air The Kennedys as a four-parter from April 10, at 9 p.m. on its History Television cable channel.

Amid criticism about the historical veracity of the lavish eight-part series axed by A&E Television Network’s History channel stateside, Shaw Media waited patiently for co-producers Muse Entertainment and Asylum Entertainment to find a replacement U.S. home before finalizing a Canadian airdate and launch plans.

The Canadian broadcaster chose not to air The Kennedys on its Global Television conventional network, and opted for one of its cable channels instead. We look forward to bringing this outstanding historical drama featuring a star-studded cast to Canadian audiences,” Barb Williams, senior vp of content at Shaw Media, said in a statement.
