The follow-up for writer-director Lowell Dean's genre pic about a drunk cop who blacks out and wakes up as a werewolf comes ahead of a June 6 theatrical release for the original movie.
TORONTO -- The Canadian horror pic WolfCop is getting a sequel.
Indie producer CineCoup plans a fall 2014 shoot for WolfCop 2, with Lowell Dean returning as director.
News of the sequel comes ahead of the original WolfCop debuting in Canadian theaters on June 6 with Leo Fafard starring as an alcoholic cop who black outs and wakes up as an enraged werewolf.
Sales agent Raven Banner Entertainment is shopping WolfCop in Cannes.
A year ago Dean, and Bernie Hernando and Hugh Patterson, the film's producers, won $1 million in production financing from CineCoup, a film accelerator-turned-producer.
WolfCop is executive produced by Bill Marks, J. Joly, Brian Wideen, Sean Buckley and Brad Pelman.
