Canada's Fight Network inks fight night deal

Will b'cast Maximum Fighting Championship blocks

TORONTO -- Canadian martial arts cable channel the Fight Network said Wednesday that it has a deal with the Maximum Fighting Championship promotion to broadcast eight two-hour fight nights in Canada and Britain.

Toronto-based Fight Network, which also runs the Fight Network U.K., will broadcast five unaired MFC events and the next three live promotions, starting with "MFC 17: Hostile Takeover," on July 25 from Edmonton, Alberta.

The Fight Network delivers martial arts fight programming to the digital TV, pay-per-view, VOD, radio, mobile and online platforms.

The Canadian channel's mix of boxing, wrestling, kickboxing and other combat sport programming also is seen in North Africa and the Middle East through Fox Sports International.
